One of the most common questions when starting a new workout routine is:

How many days a week should I actually be working out?

Three? Five? Every day? And does walking the dog count? 😆

The good news: there isn’t one magic number.

Start With What You Can Actually Maintain

If you’re currently working out zero days a week, deciding you’re suddenly going to work out six days a week probably isn’t the best place to start.

For some women, 2–3 classes a week is a great rhythm. For others, movement is part of their day most days of the week.

Your schedule, goals, fitness level and even the season of life you’re in all matter.

The goal isn’t to find the perfect number. It’s to find a rhythm that works for your actual life.

Not Every Workout Has to Be the Same

This is where group fitness gets fun.

Three workouts in a week could look completely different:

Monday: Strength đŸ’Ș
Wednesday: Pilates đŸ«¶
Saturday: Cardio or dance đŸŽ¶

Or maybe you love coming more often, so you mix higher-intensity classes with lower-impact movement, mobility and flexibility.

At Flow, you can choose from strength, cardio, Pilates-inspired formats, dance fitness, mobility and more—so “working out” doesn’t have to mean doing the exact same thing every time.

What About Rest Days?

They matter!

Your body needs recovery just as much as it needs movement. And a rest day doesn’t necessarily mean you have to sit on the couch all day.

Take a walk. Stretch. Play with your kids. Or do absolutely nothing fitness-related and enjoy it. 😂

Rest and recovery are part of taking care of your body, too.

So…How Many Classes Should You Take?

If you’re new to group fitness, 2–3 classes per week can be a really approachable place to begin. From there, pay attention to how your body feels and adjust.

And remember: your “right” number may change.

Some weeks you might make it to four classes. Another week, life happens and you make it to one.

That doesn’t mean you failed. It means you’re a human with a life outside the gym. đŸ«¶
